1) The Glorier System - Continuum uses liquid time. This means you can have one character in multiple threads at the same time. Additionally, it means you can set any thread up to be up to five years in the past ICly. For example, if you have a 20-year-old character, and you want them to go back to when they were 17, you can set up a thread that takes place three in-character years ago.
To set it up, just title it: THREAD TITLE - # years ago ,
where # is 1-5. No need to say it's the current time if you set it up at the current IC time.
Going on through this, Continuum is a whole Solar System in an entirely different Universe. For time, January 2013 is their equivalent of Winter, February 2013 is their equivalent of Spring, March 2013 is their equivalent of Summer, and April 2013 is their equivalent of Fall. In this way, four months of Earth time = the equivalent of a year Continuum time. At least in this forums.
Once a thread becomes six years old Continuum time, it will be archived. This means if you have a five years ago thread, you need to finish it within four months.
This is just the easiest to set this up, I think, so know this is for mercy for both members and staff.
2) No power-playing, god-moding, or "perfect" characters. You play only your characters, which are fallible and defeatable. Also, stuff you may know OOC, your characters may not know. There must be a reason for their knowledge.
3)Please try to use proper grammar, spelling, the whole shabang, at least ICly. While I, personally, am not bothered if you type however you want (0u751d3 0f 7yp1n 1yk3 d15) OOCly, please be respectful of others. The password to create a character is faldef0. ICly, type like the rules, stories, etc. is typed - proper grammar, spelling, capitilazation, etc. There's a spell-check button to help with your spelling, even! ("Thank you proboards!")
4) No one-liner, one-word, etc. posts. Please try to have at least two sentences, both ICly and OOCly. If you have a one-sentence post OOCly, it's discouraged but no big deal. But please do not do it ICly! I cannot stress this enough!
If you start with "She nodded" for example, you can extend it to something like:
"She nodded in agreement. She wasn't about to argue, not when the idea followed her thoughts so exactly. Being who she was, she felt no need to mention this verbally - a nod would suffice. Secretly, however, she felt a thrill of excitement. Who knew she'd find such similarities in such a different place?"
Notice how I took a small, two-word "sentence" and extended it into five sentences, each with four or more words. It's really simple to just add more to your message. What are your character's thoughts and feelings? How would they react? Who are they? Ask yourself these questions to make your post really shine.
But remember - QUALITY over QUANTITY!
5) I have a pet llama and his name is Billy Bob Joe the Third. Billy Bob Joe is called a "drama llama". Please don't make him come out. He's much nicer when he's sleeping. When he's out, he causes tension and people are arguing and it can destroy a forums. We want him to stay asleep.
If you REALLY have a problem with someone, please just PM me. We can discuss it, and it's a lot better than having BBJ3 coming to wreak havoc.
